Smolker, Bartlett, Loeb, Hinds & Thompson Announces New Addition

TAMPA, FL (JANUARY, 2016) - Smolker, Bartlett, Loeb, Hinds & Thompson, P.A. is pleased to announce that E. Colin Thompson has joined the Firm as a Shareholder.

Mr. Thompson focuses his practice on complex business litigation.  He brings with him broad-based and in-depth experience representing clients in defense of consumer class actions involving claims of deceptive and unfair practices and products liability and in litigation involving contracts, intellectual property rights, real estate, franchise matters, and disputes between business shareholders and partners. He has tried cases before juries throughout the country and has represented clients in significant appeals. Currently,  Mr. Thompson serves as a co-chair of the Emerging Issues and Web Editors subgroups of the American Bar Association’s Class Action and Derivative Suits Committee and is a frequent author on class action topics for various of its publications.

Mr. Thompson received his undergraduate and Master’s Degree in Accounting  from the University of Florida. He then went on to receive his law degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2003. Mr. Thompson is a member of the University of Florida Hall of Fame and a past president of the Florida Blue Key.

Mr. Thompson comes to Smolker Bartlett after practicing for over 13 years with and becoming partner of one of the largest international law firms in the world. There, he was based out of Tampa and Miami and represented clients in actions pending through Florida.
